Lymphodema Service

Lymphoedema is the build-up of fluid in soft body tissues when the lymph system is damaged or blocked. The lymph system is a network of lymph vessels, tissues, and organs that carry lymph throughout the body. Lymphoedema occurs when lymph is not able to flow through the body the way that it should. More info.

The lymphoedema service is working at full capacity offering a mixture of telephone and face to face appointments.

The contract for the service has been reviewed and renewed by the CCG (Now ICS).

Due to the pandemic the service had to adapt as the majority of our patients were classed as shielding but as the restrictions have ended we have been able to adapt how we offer the service to our patients to make it as safe as possible.

We are looking at the possibility of relocating the service to a bigger location to be able to offer more as the service grows.
