Walk-in Centre to stay open
Following a meeting with Norfolk and Waveney ICB this morning (5th May 2023) we are delighted to inform you that following the Public Consultation it has been agreed to keep the Walk-in Centre open with services to continue as usual. You can read more about this decision here.

OneNorwich Practices play their part in groundbreaking Covid study
Local GPs and healthcare professionals have begun enrolling participants across the east of England to a first-of-its-kind clinical trial called PANORAMIC investigating the effectiveness of new oral antiviral treatments for COVID-19 - which can be safely taken at home. Read more

Asthma clinics launched in Norwich Schools
As winter approaches many people including children find that their asthma symptoms get worse. This is due to a number of reasons including the cold weather, colds, flu, chest infections, damp and mould, dust mites, central heating, open fires, wood burning stoves and now Covid-19 (Source www.asthma.org.uk).
To tackle this, OneNorwich Practices who support 21 GP Practices across Norwich have recruited a paediatric asthma nurse whose focus will be to run a series of asthma clinics across schools in Norwich. Read more
Norwich flu clinics get off to a flying start
Old Catton Medical Practice got the flu vaccination season off to a flying start on Friday by vaccinating over 500 people.
Christina Easter, Assistant Practice Manager said “It’s been a really positive afternoon, not only have we given over 500 flu vaccines, we have also given pneumonia vaccines, done blood pressure readings, booked patients for their chronic disease checks, booked overdue smear tests and given patients information on how to access their overdue breast and bowel screening.”

This year, in one of the most challenging years imaginable for GPs, Dr Jeanine Smirl from St Stephen’s Gate Medical Practice in Norwich has been nominated for the prestigious ‘GP of the Year’ award. Read more
Norwich pharmacy team shortlisted at the General Practice Awards
In June, amongst the bustling Covid-19 vaccine clinics Tracey Bullard the head of transformation at OneNorwich Practices was so in awe of the work she'd seen the pharmacy team doing she decided to nominate them for an award at the General Practice Awards which have been running since 2008.

Norwich Practices offer 3400 more appointments this winter
GP practices were open between Christmas and New Year 2017, with more on-the-day appointments made available. There was also extra capacity in the 111 and out of hours services and at the walk-in centre in Norwich.
