Dr Joanne Walsh

Jo is a GP partner at Gurney Surgery, Castle Partnership and clinical director for the central neighbourhood of Norwich PCN.

She qualified from The University of Manchester in 1992, following a BSc (Med Sci) degree in St Andrews Scotland. 

She worked in paediatric posts in the North of England before commencing her GP training in East Anglia. She combines her interest in paediatrics and allergy with her knowledge of Primary Care which has put her in a unique position and led to her involvement in several national allergy projects including NICE food allergy guideline development in 2011, chair of the primary care committee of British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, trustee of Anaphylaxis campaign and she remains on the clinical panel of advisers to Allergy UK and Anaphylaxis Campaign. 

She undertook an MSc in Health Sciences at UEA and continues to be involved in research, both related to allergy and General Practice. She is an honorary senior lecturer at UEA and although she is no longer directly involved with medical student teaching at UEA she enjoys input with the medical students and registrars at the surgery.
